Evening cries

Crying in the evening is a big topic, and one that baffles all parents, whether experienced or not.

We hear about emotional discharge, fatigue, difficulty in detaching...

Evening crying is certainly a cocktail of several reasons, but one that can be effectively prevented is colic pain.

You may ask why colic is linked to crying in the evening?

To reduce these digestive problems, baby will need to be positioned frequently in the foetal position/Buddha position/leg flexion/leg pedalling (legs together and legs apart).

Baby will then make throat sounds as if he is ‘pushing’, so you need to continue and vary this.

As it happens, the human digestive system is very efficient from 5am onwards, and comes to a standstill at 5pm until the following morning. But babies have a very small digestive tract, so they can't ‘store’ as much as adults, so they need to pass faeces more often, almost continuously from birth... So it's easy to understand that 6pm will be complicated, on top of the day's tiredness.

Colic (digestive pain) usually appears around 3 weeks, and calms down around 4 months.
